PBP’s advance team has established an exploratory base camp in the Grand Tetons.

8/7/10 9:43am  Apparently have encountered some type of vehicular malfunction because they mentioned something about walking 14 miles.  Ouch!!!

8/7/10 11:06pm  Scout party reports grueling 14 mile hike completed, but just barely.  Along the way they encountered rain, moose, hailstorm & a family from France (no word on if they were coneheads) YCWTMTV.  Sore feet & difficulty breathing at 9,035’ elevation.

8/8/10 1:42pm  Scout party reports in again.  This time they recount recovery from yesterday’s death march due to evening consumption of grub & spirits at the Jackson Lake Lodge outpost.  Also encountered a morning eagle sighting with a fish in his claws.  While taking a Daguerreotype image of a historic marker, the advance party accidentally captures an image of the rarely seen partial eclipse of the planet iphonus.

8/9/10 11:57am  PBP explorers report early AM trip on the Snake River.  Sighting include moose, pelican, bald eagle & osprey.  Sadly no reported sighting of Evel Knievel’s rocket car.  Apparently from the pichur of the boating party, the grub’s been very good as they both appear to have put on a few pounds.

8/10/10 7:00am  Have now journeyed a long distance from their previous outpost & have entered Yellowstone Park.  Current location, Lake Yellowstone Hotel, is even more remote so limited communication opportunities likely for next few days so they request we not send out a search & rescue team if we don’t hear from them.

8/12/10 10:09am  After two tension filled days with no communication services able to penetrate the deepest darkest digital free wilderness areas of Yellowstone, the scout party returned to carrier pigeon range & made contact again with PBP Mission Control Center.  Party reports river raft trip with a gregarious yute pilot & guide named Larry (I still say he looks like Rev from the back).  Also observed Old Faithful & Mystic Falls.  Plans for the afternoon included kayaking on Lake Yellowstone, a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour........

Failed to mention their success at snagging any unguarded pick-a-nic baskets, (YCWTMTV).
